This piece is meditation on communication, exploration, and human connection. Like messages in a bottle cast into the sea, we never fully know what directions our words will travel, how far they will reach or whose the life they may ultimately touch.
Made with old bottles containing original handwritten entries from antique journals and notebooks. The corks are wrapped with vintage postage stamps. The antique brass calipers have ink pen nibs on each point. The shell cradles the vintage porcelain “postmaster” figurine standing on an antique inkwell who guides and delivers the sea mail. He holds a large compass hand on one side and a small compass in the other. The shell has a crown of ink pen nibs. The background has vintage maps and original pages with positive affirmations taken from an old handwriting instruction manual. This piece comes in a black frame.
