This piece is a celebration of curiosity, and wonder, reminding us to pause, look up, and drink in the marvel of the extraordinary universe around us. Though the earth is where our journey begins, the compass and binoculars invites us to keep searching, exploring, and looking beyond what we already know.
Made with a picnic case created from a vintage game board with brass claps and hinges and an old suitcase handle. The night sky is filled with constellation made with marbles and vintage jewelry parts including rhinestones which glitter like stars when reflecting off any light source. The vintage red drinking glasses are filled with cotton clouds and celebratory “fizz“ made of rhinestones. The vintage compass is brass, and the eyes pairing out from the old binoculars are lined with glittering rhinestones. The background is made of astronomy charts from an old geography book.
This piece is framed under glass in a 2.5” wide black hand-milled pine frame.
